Ok Go – This Too Shall Pass
Remember those guys that snowboarded and danced on treadmills whilst juggling dogs and kittens? Well, they’ve come up with a brand new music video that makes their previous one looks like garbage. The kind of garbage that gets plenty of attention. Filled with brilliant machines catapulting cows across fields the music video shows what life is like on drugs. The bad kind, of course. Directed by James Frost and produced by Shirley Moyers, the brilliant video was performed in a warehouse with two floors and in the neighborhood of Echo Park. We simply cannot wait to see what the geniuses at OkGo have in store for us in the future.

Every once a while a song comes along that manages to give you goosebumps. Whether it’s a personal relation with the lyrics or the guitar riff, there’s always something about it that manages to make you stick it on repeat. Mumford and Sons have not only managed to give us the chills but raise the hair on the back of our necks with this, frankly, beautiful single titled The Cave. The British quartet don their finest suits for a spot of easy riding around India. The single is part of the album titled Sigh No More which was released in the UK on the 5th of Oct’ 2009. The album was also recently released a couple of days ago in The States on 16th Feb ‘10. We highly recommend purchasing the album.

A journey which lead Ivan Vania through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam has left many inspired. Traveling from Italy as a director Ivan has managed to capture the essence and culture of Asia in a three minute clip. With scenes of graffiti, parties, forests, temples, rivers, boats, villages, veterans, memorials, crabs and stray dogs Ivan has allowed the viewers to relate with the soul of Asia. The subtle guitar riff from Yann Tiersen Au-Dessous Du Volcan adds to the whole experience and does justice to the short film. The film was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II with a 24 mm/70mm lens kit. Ivan Vania can be found on Vimeo and Myspace.

There’s not much talent or originality when it comes to UK Grime music, but like anything else in the music industry, there are always exceptions. Tinie Tempah is that exception in his brand new music video titled Pass Out. The single is climbing up the charts slowly but surely. Tempah manages to create art with nothing more than some fresh clothes, electronic wayfarers and a sidekick named Labs made dressed to imitate Jermaine Jackson. The song itself is also a break away from the genre stereotype which constantly finds itself related to thugs and gang culture. Lab sings the chorus sneaking in and out of shots as Tempah makes sure you remember his face from start to finish. Tinie has been listed in MTV’s favourite acts of 2010. No doubt he’ll hit the ground running next year, leading the new school of experimental black music artists. You can find Tinie on his Myspace. We weren’t aware people still used that.
