Superbowl : Coca-Cola
Twitter was on the brink of collapsing as Yanks from all over The States tweeted about commercials that ran during The Superbowl. It seemed as if the commercials were of more interest as trending topics ranged from Budweiser to GoDaddy. If it was any of them that grabbed our attention it were the Coca-Cola series. Originality and general banter at its finest. The first featured recognizable characters from the famous TV show The Simpsons. According to the connotations of the advert, If you lose a billion dollars everything will be fine with a bottle of Coca-Cola. We’re not billionaires yet but we’ll be sure to get back to you on that one. Familiar faces such as Lenny, Karl, Selma and Patty all take away Mr. Burns’ possessions. Fear not Burns, Apu has some Coca-Cola for you. Everything will be oh-alright. The second advert is nothing like the former as it doesn’t feature any famous faces. A man who seems to posses similar sleep-walking habits like Lucy Westenra treks past a herd of Elephants and a hungry hippopotamus just for a bottle of the finest. Did we mention that both the adverts have catchy music that makes you want to tap your feet?
Continue ReadingTinie Tempah – Pass Out
There’s not much talent or originality when it comes to UK Grime music, but like anything else in the music industry, there are always exceptions. Tinie Tempah is that exception in his brand new music video titled Pass Out. The single is climbing up the charts slowly but surely. Tempah manages to create art with nothing more than some fresh clothes, electronic wayfarers and a sidekick named Labs made dressed to imitate Jermaine Jackson. The song itself is also a break away from the genre stereotype which constantly finds itself related to thugs and gang culture. Lab sings the chorus sneaking in and out of shots as Tempah makes sure you remember his face from start to finish. Tinie has been listed in MTV’s favourite acts of 2010. No doubt he’ll hit the ground running next year, leading the new school of experimental black music artists. You can find Tinie on his Myspace. We weren’t aware people still used that.
